IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Morris Cell
Mccoy
June 23, 1965 – December 17, 2018
Morris Cell McCoy, Jr., beloved son of Bernice Reddick McCoy and the late Morris Cell McCoy, Sr., was born in Albany, Georgia on June 23, 1965.
During the early years of his life, he received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System and participated in numerous school activities and functions.
Having professed his faith and belief in Christ Jesus, Morris united with the Albany Deliverance Cathedral where he was a long-time member under the leadership of Apostle Isaiah Revills.
Morris wore many hats in his lifetime and held fast to his belief that work is honorable. Over the years, he labored untiringly at several local businesses, including Flint River Textile. No matter what the task, he always took pride in his work and in a job "well done."
He was formerly married to Nellie Blocker, and later in life, Mary Alice Watson.
"Bud the Stud" as he was fondly called, was a down-to-earth, humble man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Whether riding his bicycle on the streets of Albany, spending time with his family, visiting neighbors and friends, or just relaxing in front of the television; Morris was well-regarded and respected by many. He had a special way of getting to know people and becoming a part of their lives. He laughed often, loved unconditionally, and felt unbridled happiness. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
On Monday, December 17, 2018, Morris' life journey ended and he transitioned to eternal rest. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his eldest sister, Eleice McCoy Hall.
Precious memories will forever be remembered by his loving mother and stepfather, Bernice R. and Joseph Smith; siblings, Marsha McCoy DeJournett, Angela McCoy, Monica (Geno Sr.) Mitchell Johnson, Ronnie Morris, and Dennis Smith; two daughters; thirteen nieces and nephews; fourteen aunts and uncles; brother-in-law, Eddie James Hall; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
