Obituary

Moses Daniels, Jr. was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 23, 1952, to the late Gladys Daniels and Moses Daniels, Sr.

He was educated in the Toledo Public School District, graduating from Libby High School.  Believing strongly in life-long learning, Moses continued his education at the University of Toledo in Professional Sales/Real Estate.

Ready to serve his country, Moses enlisted in the United States Army where he served with distinction.  During his military service, he was assigned to posts throughout the US and abroad and was the recipient of numerous commendations.  Moses was a soldier to the core and the discipline and patriotism he learned in the Army never left him.  At the close of his tours of duty, he was honorably discharged and, thereafter, transitioned to a civilian career with Wells Aluminum Company in Moultrie, Georgia.

On October 17, 1987, Moses married the love of his life, Vivian Lamons. Their union endured for 33 years while honoring their vows to love and cherish each other.  Moses was a noble husband, father, grandfather, and provider who instilled great knowledge, character, and confidence in his family.  Never satisfied with idleness, he accepted employment  as a bus driver with the Albany Transit System which launched his career in the transportation industry.  Having developed a keen interest in "big rigs,"  Moses joined the ranks of employees at CR England Transport Service in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He later ventured out as an entrepreneur, becoming the owner and operator of DanMo Trucking; now Boaz Transport LLC.

Moses accepted Christ and united with New Birth Fellowship Church under the leadership of Pastor Leon B. Gardner and Co-Pastor Betty Gardner. He was a dedicated and faithful member while availing himself in Christian service—always giving God the glory and praise.

Traveling ranked high on his list of favorite things—he was always ready to "hit the highway."  He also enjoyed eating out, talking with family and friends on the telephone, and keeping up the Toledo happenings which earned him the coveted title of "News Reporter."    Moses will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him dearly.

Though his earthly departure on January 23, 2021, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital leaves a void in the hearts of family and friends, his spirit of caring and support will never be diminished or forgotten.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Myra Daniels.

He leaves to forever cherish his memory and legacy a devoted and loving wife, Vivian Lamons Daniels of Albany, GA; two sons, Lavoisier and Nickolas of Nashville, TN; siblings, Delphine Daniels, Linda Muhammad, Annette Long, and Reginald Daiels all of Toledo, OH; grandchildren, Petronia, Anthony, Jordan, Jeremiah, and Ndya; in-laws, Gloria Lamons, Tommy (Johnette) Lamons, Bobbie (Londel) Anderson, Pastor Antonio (Minister Michelle) Lamons, Minister Anthony (Rosette) Lamons, and Yolanda Lamons; best friends, Ed King and Bernard Hamilton of Toledo, OH; and nieces, other family, and friends of Hartford, CT, Toledo, OH, and California
