IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mother Lizzie
Mae Mosely Paige
February 21, 1933 – November 18, 2023
Mother Lizzie Mae Mosely Paige was born in Terrell County, Georgia on February 21, 1933, to the late Deacon Mann Mosely and Sister Mary Mosely.
She received her primary and secondary education in the Terrell County School System, graduating from Carver High School. During school, she demonstrated exceptional potential while developing a deep passion, genuine care, concern, and calling to serve others.
Raised in a strong Christian home, Mother Paige became a soldier for Christ at a very early age. She was baptized and received the "right hand of fellowship" into the body of Christ at Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church. From that point forward, she devoted herself faithfully to God's purpose and His calling on her life. Mother Paige dearly loved the Lord and fervently availed herself in service as a Beginner's Class
Sunday School teacher, member of the Progressive Club, Assistant Director of the Fowl Town Missionary Baptist Association Sunbeams, member of the Mother's Board, President of the Senior Choir, and a dedicated student in the Ladies Bible Class.
Through the years, she inspired many to go forth in the Lord. You could not know her without being inspired by her unfaltering devotion to her church; and her strong faith and convictions that allowed her to be an example for her family, friends, church family, and all who encountered her.
Mother Lizzie was united in holy matrimony to Joe N. Paige, Sr. who preceded her in death. Their union was blessed with five wonderful children, Jimmy, Sonja, Gerald, Roderick, and J. Nathan. Through the years, she proved to be a true anchor and helpmate to her husband and a strong tower for her children. Mother Paige was steadfast in her dedication to foster a Christian home filled with love and strong family values. As a wife and mother, she ate not the bread of idleness and always sacrificed her needs for the good of her family. Daily, she offered much time and attention to their lives. Whether needing advice, a listening ear, or casual conversation, they knew that Mother Lizzie was always available to hear them out—she was truly a blessing.
The Life and Legacy of Mother Paige always had a love for children and was blessed to have had a profound professional career that spanned more than 30 years. As a daycare/nursery school teacher, she was relentless in guiding and inspiring toddlers at Mother Goose Nursery. She was a caring teacher who set high standards for her students and made them feel loved. Her career was marked by the highest level of excellence; and as a result, she received numerous accolades as she shaped the lives of many boys and girls. After retirement, Mother Paige didn't see herself sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch; rather, she continued touching young lives at her in-home Daycare Center for innumerable years. Yes, she truly possessed a gift for teaching and a love for children.
Known for her kind and gentle spirit, Mother Paige believed deeply in unconditional love; enjoyed spending time with family and friends; and delighted in helping others—never asking anything in return. She had a way of looking into your soul and knowing just what you would need to make you grow. Having the privilege of being loved by her was to know you would be loved for a lifetime.
Blessed beyond measure, Mother Lizzie lived a rich and rewarding life; reached the hallowed age of 90; and lived to see a generation of off-springs with whom she left a legacy of love, humility, generosity, and godliness that will forever be cherished. She will be remembered by many as an unselfish servant with a sweet spirit.
On November 18. 2023. surrounded by family, Mother Paige quietly answered the Master's call to eternal peace and rest.
