Myrtice Johnson, affectionately known as "Donda", was born on October 13, 1950 in Arlington, Georgia to Catherine (Childs) Corbett and the late Albert Canidate. She was educated in the public schools of Calhoun and Dougherty County.
Myrtice loved to sing. Her favorite song was "Precious Lord". She was a great cook. Her favorite pastime was sitting around her home listening to "oldie goldies" and enjoying her family and friends.
On Tuesday, September 10, 2019, her labors were ended and she journeyed to her eternal home. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lucious Johnson and two sisters, Alfreda Canidate and Gloria Carr.
She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Catherine Corbett; two sisters- Gail Corbett and Renita (Joe) Walker; two brothers- Hubbard (Denise) Canidate and Calvin (Daphne) Corbett; three children- Darrin Johnson of Albany, GA, Sabrina (Curtis) Meadows of Stone Mountain, GA and Trellis Johnson of Albany, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren- Robert Johnson, Shonte Johnson, Shaquille Johnson, Shunkeila Johnson, Darrin Johnson Jr, Hope Johnson, the late Unterio Johnson and Semaja Johnson, Josia Johnson, Jeremiah Scott, Jamarrion English, Shontaceay Jenkins, and Nakethia Washington; a special friend-Eugene Bailey, three special caregivers-Re'Nya Johnson, Jawuan Jinks and L'Asia Dillard and a host of other great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved her.
