With great sadness, we announce the passing of NaShante Nicole Merritt, who departed this life on May 29, 2026, at Willson Hospice House. Born on February 17, 1984, NaShante lived a life that touched countless hearts and inspired all who knew her, leaving behind memories that will be cherished and a presence deeply missed.

NaShante’s journey was defined by love, kindness, and an unwavering spirit. Those blessed to have shared time with her will remember the warmth of her smile and the compassion she extended to friends and family alike. Her gentle heart, resilience, and ability to light up a room are among the countless things cherished by those left behind.

As we bid farewell to NaShante, we hold close to our hearts the laughter, moments, and shared experiences that now serve as precious memories. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the lessons she imparted, and the love she freely gave.

Family, friends, and loved ones are invited to gather for a viewing in her honor on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Martin Luther King Memorial Chapel, located at 1908 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Albany, Georgia. A funeral service celebrating NaShante’s life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 1:00 PM at New Provisor Missionary Baptist Church, 3014 Sylvester Road, Albany, Georgia. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery, 120 Old Pretoria Road, Albany, Georgia.

As we gather to remember and honor NaShante Nicole Merritt, we do so with hearts full of both sorrow for her absence and gratitude for the blessing of her life. Her memory will continue to inspire and encourage all who knew her.
