Obituary

Brother Nathaniel Edward Brown, son of Dorothy Jean Brown and the late Roosevelt Brown, Sr., was born in Albany, Georgia on October 28, 1968.

He was educated in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Dougherty Comprehensive High School in 1986.  Throughout school, Nathaniel was an exceptionally conscientious student who garnered much from his educational experiences and was actively involved in various school activities and sporting events.

Nathaniel developed strong work ethics early in life while engaging in multiple career interests, including employment at Flint River Textiles; Georgia Pacific; Cooper Tire of Albany and Texarkana, Arkansas; City of Albany; and co-owner of Israel Kennels.  Through the years, he was a conscientious, loyal, and dedicated employee who gave his very best until his health declined.

A true joy to everyone around him, Nathaniel's presence was a gift, as was his fierce love for family, friends, and community.  His contagious smile and happy demeanor could light the darkest of spaces even when it seemed that everything around was falling apart.  He was a loving son, a caring father, an awesome brother, a thoughtful uncle, a committed cousin, and the most loyal friend that anyone could ever have.  His absence leaves a void in hearts of many who loved him dearly.

On September 25, 2021, Nathaniel departed this earthly life at Piedmont Henry Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.  In addition to his father, Roosevelt Brown, Sr., he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eric D. Brown and Roosevelt Brown, Jr.

Cherished memories will forever remain in with his son Brandon Israel Brown (Sierra Israel) of Atlanta, Georgia; godchildren, Dexter Merritt (Kaeesha) and NaShante Merritt; his loving mother, Dorothy Jean Brown; siblings, Michelle B. (Dexter) Merritt of Albany, GA and Avery L. Brown of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Brayden Brown (Israel), Noah Brewer (Israel), Saniyah Brown (Israel), and Mikayla Brown (Israel); sister-in-law, LaDonna Brown of Albany, GA; a devoted fiancé, Candace Overall; and a host of uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
