Obituary

Nathaniel Lewis was born in Albany, Georgia on June 14, 1975.  He was the beloved son of Lucille Wright and the late Nathaniel W. Spurlin.

He received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System and was actively involved in numerous school organizations, activities, and sporting events.

At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Savior and united with the Antioch Baptist Church.

Nathaniel was united in holy matrimony to April Howard on November 15, 2018.  They shared a love that was strong and unshakeable.  He was a devoted husband and father who showered his family with unmatched tenderness, unconditional love, and quality care.

"Big Boy, Grunt, Pumkin, Nate, and Sweet Pickle," all names lovingly given to him by family and friends,  was a delightful man with a big heart. His love for family and friends knew no boundaries and he touched their lives in a very special way.  He found comfort and solace in the outdoors; had a passion for grilling; and was hailed as a true "grill master" throughout the community.  He will long be remembered for his generosity and unconditional love.

On June 9, 2020, Nathaniel quit this busy walk of life at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia and transitioned to eternal rest.

Fond memories will forever be cherished by his loving and devoted wife, April Howard-Lewis; his mother, Lucille (Robert) Wright; children, Kezion Howard and Brianna Howard; godchildren, Shavonte Jackson and Jacob Perry; siblings, Bessie Lewis of San Antonio, TX, and Pamela (Pete) Newsome, Shirley Bradford, James (Leean) Lewis, Stephen Lewis, Joe Nathan (Delois) Lewis, Kalwaski Wheeler, and Tabius Wright all of Albany, GA; countless nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
