IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nefeterria Sharey
Brownlee
June 7, 1981 – February 6, 2021
Nefeterria S. Brownlee was born on June 7, 1981, the second of two children, in Albany, GA. Her mother, Twanda Michelle Brownlee and all the family rejoiced upon her arrival that summer day.
She was a Tallahassee, FL resident raised in Albany with a number of first cousins and friends who were all born within the same timeframe and on the same street - Carver Avenue, the Coachman Park neighborhood named after the athletic legend Alice Coachman. Most people and the crew – Man, Myeisha , KeKe , Beyonkia , Nikki, Quante ', Kedra , Nakima , Shaun, DeDe , Boobie , Cindy, and Marques – knew her simply as " Neffie " as they played up and down the street.
Neffie was the quiet one, but when she had something to say, she said it! And, she emerged from childhood to adulthood mesmerizing everyone with those beautiful "diamond eyes." She attended Dougherty Comprehensive High School and later was enrolled at the Albany Technical College. In 2008, she became a Correctional Officer for MTC – Management & Training Corporation (MTC) for the Florida Department of Corrections, which resulted in her relocation to Tallahassee.
Her father, Roswell Lamar, preceded her in death. She leaves behind her precious loved ones, her three children: De'Andre Brownlee, Ke'Darrius Brownlee, and Leah Brownlee; and a grandson, De'Andre Brownlee, Jr. She also leaves behind her loving mother, Twanda Michelle Brownlee; two brothers- Olmara Brownlee and Sean Watson; two sisters-Adriane Lamar and Janay Lamar; her stepmother-Charlene Lamar; uncles- Jurenee Porter (Beverly) and Lamontra Johns (Angela); aunts-Deborah Price, Valerie Roberts, Renee Porter, Tanya McClendon, and Semora Johns Smith; two grand aunts-Willa Vaughn (Matthew) and Ruby Watkins; 22 first cousins; and a host of friends .
