Nicholas Quintavius Gillison was born in Albany, Georgia to Earnest Butts and Patricia Gillison on March 6, 1982.
He was educated in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Monroe Comprehensive High School in 2000. He later attended Albany Technical College where he studied welding and auto paint and body work.
He joined Second Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Jimmy J. Ewings, Sr., where he served on the junior usher board and sung in the youth choir.
On Friday, September 22, 2017, Nicholas departed this life and transitioned into his eternal home.
He leaves to cherish his memories a son- Nicholas Q. Gillison, Jr. (Wanda Thomas, Albany, GA); father- Earnest (Willa Mae) Butts, Leesburg, GA; mother-Patricia Gillison (Albany, GA); paternal grandparents- Albert & Leodis Butts, Sr, (Leesburg, GA) maternal grandmother-Elizabeth G. Jones (Albany, GA); (4) sisters-Tapetress (Rodney) Ford, Sr. (Conyers, GA), Shiquita Butts (Albany, GA); Pershena (Tyrone) Butts-Murray (Katy, Texas); and LaQuanda Butts (Leesburg, GA); (4) nephews-Jonathan Isom (Albany, GA), Rodney Ford, Jr, (Conyers, GA), Quaterrius Mickens and Joshua Butts (Leesburg, GA); (4) nieces- Kyla Ford (Conyers, GA), Kamari Murray and Korbyn Murray (Katy, Texas) and Sheniah Butts (Leesburg, GA); (8) uncles-Jessie (Vickie) Jones (Lake City, FLA), Jimmy (Alfreda) Jones, John (Connie) Jones, Darryll (Tammy) Jones, Van (Mary) Wilson, Albert (Iola) Butts, Charles (Tracy) Butts all of Albany, GA and James (Melinda) Butts of Dawson, GA; (8) aunts-Jackie (Glenn) Marshall, Jeraldine Jones, Sandra (Rance) Pettibone, Debra Davis, and Gail (Eddie) McKinney all of Albany, GA; Irene Butts (Leesburg, GA), Phyllis (Yiron) Hardy (Atlanta, GA), and Jacqueline (Craig) Johnson of Tallahassee, FLA;. He also leaves a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather-Rev. Paul Jones, Jr. and his maternal great grandmother-Carrie Dawson.
