IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ola Mae
Roach
March 12, 1927 – July 17, 2017
Ola Mae Roach, beloved daughter of the late Clara Bell and York James, was born in Randolph County, Georgia on March 12, 1927. She was the oldest child born into a loving family of five children.
At a very early age having professed her faith and belief in the Lord, she began her Christian walk at the Vilulah Baptist Church where she was baptized and received the "right hand of fellowship" into the body of Christ. Ola was a woman who feared the Lord, a woman of prayer and faith, and a woman whose life was a blessing to many people.
She was blessed with one child, Christopher, whom she nurtured with patience, discipline, humility, and love. As a mother, homemaker, domestic worker, and department store manager, she was diligent in caring for the needs of her family. Even when faced with life's challenges and all seemed impossible she persevered and never gave up. She always took great pride in a "job well done."
Ola was a strong but gentle woman with a heart of gold. She was compassionate, patient, and loving. Her impact reached far beyond her family's lives; she was loved and respected in her community.
On Monday, July 17, 2017, she answered the Master's call at the Halcyon House in Atlanta, Georgia, and made a peaceful transition to her eternal home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Lanie Watts; and two sisters, Lucy James and Essie Bell James.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by her brothers, Johnnie James and Earlie James; four grandchildren, Ariel Watts, Tami Williams, Bria Anthony, ad Tysen Anthony; one great grandchild, Christian Watts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
