IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pastor Kendrick
Barlow, Sr.
March 3, 1966 – September 20, 2024
Pastor Kendrick Barlow, Sr. was born in Albany, Georgia on March 3, 1966. He was the beloved son of Mary Brown and the
late Tommy Fletcher.
He was educated in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Westover High School in 1984. Realizing very early
that he had a natural gift for serving and a profound calling on his life, Kendrick took advantage of every opportunity to learn
and grow. Throughout his academic journey, he displayed exceptional talent and abilities; gained valuable life skills; and was
actively involved in numerous student organizations and activities.
Growing up in a loving Christian home, Kendrick was taught the Word of God and the value of living a Christ-like life. His faith
and belief in the Lord led him on an unparalleled journey of Christian stewardship at the Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist
Church under the leadership of the late Reverend E. J. Menefee. There, he served in numerous capacities and ministries,
including the Deacon Board, Male Chorus, Menefee Voices of Faith, Laymen's Ministry, and the Crusaders. Strongly sensing a
special calling on his life to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Kendrick began his journey in the ministry. As he
grew and was armed with a deep understanding of the Word and a passion for guiding others, God entrusted him to pastor
Magnolia Bay Missionary Baptist Church of Preston, Georgia and later, New Testament Baptist Church of Albany. Pastor
Barlow was a man of true passion for everyone around him. For more than 13 years, he poured out his knowledge, in-depth
biblical teaching, and faith in the Lord to countless individuals who sought solace within the walls of New Testament. Pastor
Barlow was a wise and courageous servant who trusted God completely and listened daily for His instructions. Even in the
midst of declining health challenges, he remained steadfast and committed to his calling. As he continued in faithful service,
Victorious Life Church of Albany was his final earthly church home, under the covering of Bishop J. Nathan Paige. You could
not know him without being inspired by his anointing from on High; his unfaltering devotion to his ministry; and his strong faith
and convictions that allowed him to be an example for all who encountered him.
Pastor Barlow was a devoted husband to Tanya; a loving father to Kendrick, Michael, and Nikendra; and a doting grandfather to
Skyler and Damarian. He looked well to the ways of his household and ate not the bread of idleness. Family was paramount in
his life and he worked untiringly to ensure that wellbeing. In addition to his undaunting work in the ministry, he unwaveringly
poured himself into his work while employed at SPIRIT Uniform Services, Pollock Heating & Cooling, and Albany Heating,
Air & Cooling. Throughout his career, he never shied away from a challenge and took great pride in a "job well done."
While Pastor Barlow never sought to make a name for himself, his remarkable reputation ensured that he was always recognized
and respected wherever he went. Anyone who knew him would agree that he was extremely straight-forward, unpretentious, and
strong-willed; but he was also the voice of calm, comfort, and humility. Having the privilege of being a part of his life was to
know that you were deeply loved. Pastor Barlow dedicated his life to serving others—his work as a patient advocate for DCI
(Dialysis Clinic Incorporated) was unparalleled. He also served as Past Moderator of the Camilla Baptist Association, Past 2nd
District 2nd Vice-President of General Missionary Baptist Convention Of Georgia, and Past Secretary Of Albany Minister's
Alliance. Truly, he was a great example of a man that followed God, and no doubt, his legacy and his love of the Georgia
Bulldogs and the color blue have followed him to Heaven.
On September 20, 2024, God in His infinite wisdom, saw fit to call his faithful servant Home. In addition to his father, he was
preceded in death by his grandparents, Clara Williams, James Fletcher, and Annell Fletcher. Pastor Barlow may have departed
from this world, but his legacy of faith, courage, and generosity will continue to inspire and guide those he left behind.
Cherished memories of a life well lived will forever remain with his wife, Tanya Barlow; loving an devoted mother, Mary Brown;
his children, Kendrick Barlow, Jr., Michael Barlow, and Nikendra Green; three bonus daughters, Pris'ca Hill, Caya Hill, and
Ashley Hill; grandchildren, Skyler Hill and Damarian Williams; siblings, Stephanie B. (Roderick) Paige, Mark Barlow, Michael
Barlow, Jasmine Fletcher Irvin, Roslyn Fletcher, and Clurisa McGhee; very special adjutants, Gurley Brown, De'Marcus Brown,
and Corey Hubert; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends
