The season of life for Pearlie Lee Green began on October 12, 1938, in Newton, Georgia. She was the beloved daughter of the late Eddie Ruth Lee Walker and Albert Smith.

She received her formal education in the Baker County School System. During her school years, she was a very inquisitive, considerate, and attentive young lady who was a joy to everyone around her.

Early in life, Pearlie accepted Christ as her Savior and united with Beulah Missionary Baptist Church. Through the years, she remained an humble and faithful servant—always giving God the glory and praise.

Pearlie was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Johnny Green. Together, they created a home filled with loving care and strong family values. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who cared for her family with endless patience, compassion, and unconditional love. Not only was she a meticulous homemaker, but a great provider as well. “Mama Pearl,” as she was most affectionately called, was a stellar employee at Central Pine in Albany, whose work was marked by high expectations, honesty, perseverance, and unquestionable integrity. She was proud of the service that she provided and never shied away from a challenge. Her kind spirit left a lasting impression on everyone in her midst.

Mama Pearl had a zest for life in everything that she did. Her home was a safe haven for many and her doors were always open. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends—especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were sources of joy and pride in her life. Her warmth, wisdom, and nurturing heart touched countless people; and the memories she created will last a lifetime.

On June 3, 2026, Mama Pearl transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace with the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnny Green; and her brother, Richard Lee Smith.

Precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of her children, Linda (Anthony) Branch, Unella Green, Johnny Green, Eddie Green, Curtis Green, and Albert (Gloria) Green all of Albany, GA; eight grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
