Pecola Rivers-Robinson, beloved daughter of the late Joe and Ida Clark Rivers, was born in Lee County, Georgia on November 18, 1937.

She received her formal education in the Lee County School System.

Having professed her belief and faith in the Lord early in life, she united with the Church of Christ where she was a dedicated member for over 60 years.

In her late teens, Pecola met and married the love of her life, Simon Robinson. Their union endured for 60 years and they were blessed with seven wonderful children. Ms. Pecola, as she was affectionately called, was domestic at heart and unwavering in her dedication to foster a Christian home filled with love, joy, and strong values. Sharing time with family paramount in her life. Her diligence in caring for her husband and children was the personification of a Proverbs 31 Woman, "A wife of noble character whose worth was far above rubies. Her husband had full confidence in her and lacked for nothing."

Affectionately called Great G (a name given to her by her great grandson, Cameron), she was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, caring sister, nurturing aunt, and constant friend. Ms. Pecola lived a rich and rewarding life. She had a kind heart, a very generous spirit, and never hesitated to help others. She was the one to go to for advice, help, and support, and her door was always open. She will be missed by all who loved her dearly.

On March 9, 2020, Ms. Pecola's earthly journey ended as she peacefully transitioned with her family at her bedside. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband; two daughters; and three siblings.

She leaves a lifetime of love and memories to be cherished by her children, Lauritha Armstrong and Tim Robinson of Albany, GA, Larry (Laverne) Robinson of Pensacola, FL, Allen Robinson of Atlanta, GA, and Gregory (Tamika) Robinson of Salem, AL; one sister, Linda Lamar of Atlanta, GA; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
