Perry Williams, Jr., whose journey began September 17, 1964, in Albany, Georgia. He was the devoted son of Deacon Perry Williams and Sis. Annie M. Williams.
Perry received his formal education in the public schools of Dougherty County, including Monroe High School. While at Monroe, he participated in numerous school organizations and activities, and graduated in the class of 1982. Throughout his high school years, he remained true to the "green and gold" and was a staunch "mighty, mighty Tornado!"
At a very early age, Perry professed his faith and belief in Christ and united with the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. He was an active and dedicated member, and served faithfully on the usher board. When standing at the doors of the church, there was always a smile on his face when greeting the congregation. Even in the midst of declining health, he remained steadfast as he stayed on the battlefield. Perry realized through it all that the joy of the Lord was his strength.
Perry was a very conscientious, hardworking individual who gave his best at whatever he did. For many years, he labored untiringly at River Valley of Cuthbert, Georgia. Perry believed strongly in working hard for what you want, being willing to do the right thing, and making sure that no task was left undone. Not only did he take pride in his work, but he truly reassured the friends that he made during his employment.
Family and friends were among Perry's greatest cherished gifts. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a caring brother, a nurturing uncle, a committed cousin, and an unforgettable friend. His love for family was insurmountable and he would go the extra mile to ensure their happiness and well-being. Perry was a great communicator who loved to share stories and words of wisdom. He had the unique ability to draw people towards him. always had a positive attitude, was quick to smile and laugh, and was an expert at making people feel good about life. He prided himself in having friendship full of love, humor and respect.. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of being a part of his life. In his leisure, Perry enjoyed sporting events, especially football. He was a #1 fan of the Pittsburg Steelers.
Perry transitioned to his eternal home on January 17, 2019.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by his wife, Shanta Williams; his children, Tasha Jones of Macon, GA, Muneer Pittman of Atlanta, GA, Alejandro (Loretha) Monroe of Jacksonville, FL, Farihah Williams of North Carolina, Yasmeen Williams of Atlanta, GA, Stephanie Williams and Shontaesia Williams of Albany, GA, Tay Henderson and Benjamin Henderson of Arlington, GA, and Perry Williams III of Guam; six siblings, Anita (Lamont) Nix King of Killeen, TX, Tonya (Tony) Williams, Vontressa (Ricco) Riggins of Ozark, AL, Terry (Renae) Williams and Stephanie Williams of Albany, GA, and Eddie (Leslie) Williams of Dawson, GA; a god-brother, James Brown, a special friend, Patricia Henderson; twelve grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
