IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Priscilla
Hart
November 1, 1950 – May 1, 2017
Minister Priscilla Hart , blessed her parents, the late Senora and William Hart, Sr., with her birth on November 1, 1950, in Dawson, Georgia. She was the youngest daughter born in the family.
Minister Hart received her formal education in the public schools of Terrell County, including George Washington Carver High School where she graduated in the class of 1968. She continued her education in 2015 at Beulah Heights University in Religious Studies.
Throughout her childhood, Minister Hart was nurtured in the word of God. As a youth, she began her fellowship with Christ at the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Dawson, Georgia, under the leadership of the late Reverend J. H. Reynolds. Strong in faith, in character, and in wisdom, Minister Hart heeded the Master's call into the ministry and was licensed to preach by Pastor Peggy Jones at the Anointed Believers Church of God. As she continued her Christian walk, she served faithfully as a musician at New Destiny Christian Church. She was known as a caring, generous, and enlightened lady who inspired people with her faith and hope in God.
Minister Hart garnered much from her life experiences and held fast to her belief in professional work ethics and responsibilities. For many years, she was employed at Bob's Candies where she worked untiringly until the plant closed. After becoming a Certified Nurses Assistant (CAN), she utilized her skills at the Palmyra Nursing Home providing care and spiritual uplifting to the patients and fellow employees. The words penned by the songwriter, "If I can help somebody as I travel along….then my living shall not be in vain," truly exemplifies Minister Hart's life. To the hungry, she offered food; to the sick, she offered company; to the lost, she offered hope and guidance.
On Monday, May 1, 2017, answered her final call and entered into eternal rest. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her loss two siblings, Ulysse (Bernice) Hart of Albany, GA and Adel Thomas of Atlanta, GA; one aunt, Ola Trent of Albany, GA; nieces and nephews who were like her children; a god-daughter, Veronica Lewis of Albany, GA; her best friend, Gladys Hodges of Albany, GA; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
