Obituary

Ralph Williams was born in Blakely, November 4, 1929. He was the beloved son of the late Mainer Williams and Mary Moses Williams.

He received his formal education in the Early County School System where he gained valuable life skills.

Very early in life, Ralph was taught the Word of God and the importance of living a life of integrity and loving kindness. In his adult years, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and began his season of Christian stewardship at New Union Grove Baptist Church. He was a man of true passion for everyone around him and he remained prayerful, steadfast, and committed until he was called home.

Ralph began a career as a mason and cement finisher during his early years and continued in the trade until his retirement. He was a highly skilled and talented individual whose work in the construction trades proved to be one of his greatest accomplishments. Through the years, he took great pride in his profession and the services he provided. No matter what challenges faced him, he was always positive, upbeat, friendly, hard-working, and determined.

His work with various companies in the Southwest Georgia area aided him in becoming one of the best masons of all times. Whether engaged in a residential or commercial project, he always worked untiringly to ensure that his work was flawless and that no task was ever left undone. Blessed beyond measure, Ralph lived a rich and rewarding life; reached the hallowed age of 95; and lived to see generations of his off-springs with whom he left a legacy of love, humility, and generosity. Often times during his life, he reminisced about his childhood and humble beginnings. He was a kind and generous man who greeted each day with a smile and touch the lives of many. You couldn't know him without being inspired by his love and devotion to his family, friends, church, and community.

On January 22, 2025, God called his servant home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Johnnie Pearl Williams and Dawandry Jones; and six siblings, A. J. Williams, Claude Williams, Robert Williams, Ivory Williams, Remel Pressley, and Mainer Lee Bonner.

Cherished memories will forever remain with children, Michelle (Anthony) Webb, Joanne Taylor, Diana Jones (Myron), Tammie Thomas, and Wendy (Lonnie) Wolfe; his brother, Murray (Minnie) Williams; 14 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
