IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rashad Jerome
Roberts
August 22, 1987 – October 12, 2019
Rashad Jerome Roberts, beloved son of Otis Jerome Roberts and the late Ernestine Harrison, was born in Albany, Georgia on August 22, 1987.
He received his formal education in the public schools of Dougherty County, including Albany High School where he graduated in 2006. While Albany High, he actively participated in numerous school organizations, activities, and sporting events.
Rashad was a very persistent, hardworking individual who gave his best at whatever he did; and was known for leading by example. For seven years, he was employed with the City of Albany Parks and Recreation Department. He later joined the ranks of employees at the Albany Police Department Animal Control Unit and worked untiringly until his untimely demise.
A young man of great humility, integrity, and unparalleled kindness, Rashad was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Although small in stature, he had the heart of a giant. He was a compassionate individual with a fondness and kindness of animals—especially dogs and yes, snakes from which he was given the nickname "Snake." Family was foremost in Rashad's life, although anyone who knew him understood that motorcycles ranked high on his list of favorite things. He was an avid motorcycle rider and truly enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow riders of the XTREME RYDERZ BIKE CLUB. Rashad will long be remembered for his love of family, animals, motorcycles, and adventure.
On Saturday, October 12, 2019, Rashad's earthly journey ended and he transitioned to eternal rest. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his uncle, Carlton Hall.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by his father, Otis Jerome Roberts of Albany, GA; siblings, Lakesha Harrison, Tiffany Roberts, and Landon Roberts of Albany, GA; a special friend, Kimberly Ross of Albany, GA; grandparents, Willie Mae McBride, Gracie Shelley, and Otis Wise, Jr. all of Albany, GA, and Willie James Kent of Leesburg, GA; aunts, Shwander (Phillip) Gammage of Leesburg, GA, and Wendy Hall and Lakisha Hall of Albany, GA; uncles, Tracy Roberts, Willie James Kent, and Haywood Shelley of Albany, GA; six nieces, KeySean, Kimona, Kenjetta, Keyonna, Ta'Jordan, and Kyihulani all of Albany, GA; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
