IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Reginald
Gatson
July 8, 1968 – December 23, 2022
Reginald Gatson, son of the late Mary Lee Mathis and Inzie Lee Gatson, was born in Albany, Georgia on July 8, 1968.
He received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System. Throughout school, he was a lively, energetic student who was always ready for adventure while participating in numerous events and activities.
As a young adult, Reginald accepted Christ as his Savior and united with the Church of the Living Word under the leadership of Pastor Mary Ann Whitley. He dearly loved the Lord and remained humble along life's journey.
Reginald was a very conscientious individual who was no stranger to hard work. He was a dedicated employee of Tyson Foods where he worked untiringly for 26 years. No matter what the task, he always stayed the course to ensure that nothing was ever left undone—he prided himself in a job Well Done.
Simply a true joy to people around him, Reginald had a fierce love for family and friends. His contagious smile and happy demeanor could light up a room and there was never a dull moment when in his presence. In his leisure, he enjoyed listening to music, fishing, grilling, and spending time with his family and friends. He was quite possibly the best father, grandfather, brother, companion, uncle, cousin, and friend anyone could ever hope for and will be sorely missed by all who loved him dearly.
On Friday, December 23, 2022, Reginald faced the sunset of his earthly life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Tammy Lamar.
Loving memories will forever remain in the hearts of his children, Shekema Gordon, Reginald Gordon, Contessa (Dantoine) Washington; siblings, Teresa Jackson, Tyeshia Gatson, and Eric Mathis; fourteen grandchildren; a special friend and companion, Daphne Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
