Rena Pearl Kendrick was born in Dawson, Georgia on July 13, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Catherine Johnson.
She attended he public schools of Terrell County, including Carver High School where she was active in numerous school organizations and functions.
At a very early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.
She was united in holy matrimony to Charlie Kendricks. Their union endured through the years and was blessed with a loving family. As a wife and mother, Rena spent much of her time and energy caring for the needs of her family. For many years, she was a loyal and dedicated employee of Flint River Textile and the Sizemore Company who took great pride in a "job well done."
Rena was a woman who loved all and enjoyed the basics of life. She treasured time spent with her family and her best friend, Thelma Davis. She was a selfless person who willingly helped others, whose doors were always opened to family and friends, and who touched the lives of people around her in a very special way. Rena was easy to talk to and was able to find the humor in most situations. She will be remembered as a deeply caring, compassionate, and appreciative person who was a true blessing to all knew her.
On Wednesday, January 17, 2018, Rena peacefully transitioned to her eternal home joining her beloved husband, Charlie; and her mother, Catherine. She was also preceded in death by three siblings, Clarence Johnson, Annie Johnson, and Dora Spann.
Rena was dearly loved and her memory will forever be cherished by her children, Carl Dennis Johnson, Gwendolyn Johnson-Kelly, Ronnie Johnson, and Don Kendricks all of Albany, GA; grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy (Jessie) Frazier, Minnie Jenkins, Marvin (Pam) Jackson, Jimmy (Stephanie) Johnson, and Betty (Frank) Rowe; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
