Obituary

Reverend Konoea Immanuel Williams was born in Miller County, Georgia on November 19, 1972. He was the beloved son of Emma A. Williams and the late Robert L. Williams, Jr.

He was educated in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Westover Comprehensive High School as a lettered athlete. Konoea realized very early in life that he had a natural gift for baseball and football and began pushing himself to perfect his skills. His determination and perseverance enabled him to become a fiercely dominating Patriot player. Many times after his high school years he often commented, "If I had stuck with baseball, my momma would be living in a mansion right now." Hailing from a family that valued higher education, Konoea continued his quest for knowledge at Albany State College. He was a very talented young man who took every opportunity to learn and grow.

Growing up in a strong Christian home, Konoea was taught the Word of God and the value of living a Christ-like life. He was a young man of great faith and belief in the Lord, was baptized, and began his Christian journey at Union Missionary Baptist Church. Having been blessed with the gift of song, he devoted himself faithfully as a member of the Junior Choir and Gospel Choir where he utilized his rich baritone voice to praise God. In later years as his love for singing continued to escalate he blended his voice with members of True Praise Ensemble under the direction of Bishop J. Nathan Paige. Continuing in his season of praise, Konoea and his friend the late Arthur Burkes later formed the Good Life City Community Choir. Yes, Konoea's singing was intense, his message was powerful, and he gave all to the Glory of God. In 1995, strongly sensing a special calling on his life to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he began his journey in the ministry. As he grew and was armed with a deep understanding of the Word and a passion for guiding others, God entrusted him to pastor both Mount Olive Baptist Church of Shellman, Georgia and Zion Hill Church of Baconton, Georgia. Reverend Williams was a man of true passion for everyone around him. Each Thursday, he poured out his knowledge, in-depth biblical teaching, and faith in the Lord to countless individuals through his weekly podcast, Thursday Night Live. Even in the midst of health challenges and hospitalization, he remained steadfast and committed to his calling until his demise. Reverend Williams was selfless, lived to pleased God, and tried to allow God to order his steps. He was a great example of a man that followed God, and no doubt, his legacy has followed him to Heaven.

Anyone who knew Reverend Williams also knew that he had a passion for cooking and grilling. During his early years, he grilled with his father. Later, he tag teamed with his brother Kiovan to create Williams Brothers Barbeque. They were hailed as "true grill masters" throughout the community and often provided grilling services for the high school fraternity, Phi Kappa Alpha.

If Reverend Williams was not on the grill, he could be found watching sports and basking in his unofficial role of expert sports analyst. Having the privilege of being a part of his life was to know that you were dearly loved. His life was a testament to the power of faith and the strength of the human spirit.

On July 12, 2024, God in His infinite wisdom, saw fit to bring Reverend Williams' sports analyst and grilling days to an end and transitioned him to his eternal home. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Alice Williams, Sr., and Willie
and Jemima Bush; aunts and uncle, Georgia Mae Jaye, Willie Bridley, and Johnny Williams; and one nephew, Kenneth Hewett, Jr.
