Obituary

R ickeia Nichole Jackson was born June 22, 1992, in Albany, Georgia.  She was the daughter of Rick Jackson and the late Teresa Floyd.

She received her early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Dougherty High School in 2010.  Rickeia continued her education  at Albany Technical College in Criminal Justice.

Rickeia was a very independent individual who had an everlasting love for her only daughter.  Those who encountered her often described her as a caring, hardworking mother who provided unconditionally for Layla through her employment in Customer Service Support at Teleperformance.  Rickeia was proud of the service she provided and was highly respected by consumers, co-workers, and supervisors for her knowledge, skills, and commitment.  Outside of work, she enjoyed dancing—her fondest passion that allowed her to outwardly  express her innate creativity.  One of her greatest joys was watching  Layla blossom into a talented dancer and accompanying her to various dance competitions. They had an unbreakable bond and she made sure that her "Ariyanna Grande" knew just how much she was loved.

Devoted mother, loving daughter, caring sister and aunt, committed cousin, and loyal friend, "Keia" gave freely of herself—never expecting anything in return.  Spending time with family and friends was paramount in her life and when in her presence, she was undoubtedly the life of the crowd.  Often in the midst of family gatherings filled with light-hearted joking and laughter, her response was, "But I'm a good person though," and that she truly was!  Her one-of-a-kind personality and warm presence and will be missed by all who knew her.

On November 20, 223, Rickeia transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest.  In addition to her mother, she was  preceded in death by her grandfather, John Jackson.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by her daughter, Layla Hooper; her father and stepmother, Rick Jackson and Carolyn Downs; siblings, Nakia Floyd, Donterius (Audrey) Downs, Ki'ana (Kenneth) Ware, and Jacquez Jackson; grandparents, Elaine Jackson, Margaret  Thomas, David Thomas, and Ulyess Edwards; aunts and uncles, Nicole Jackson, Jacqueline Carter, Carletha Stephens, Krystal Edwards, Antonio (Vontresia) Jackson, Patrick Jackson, Demetrious (Natasha) Thomas, Ulyess Carter, and Carlton Edwards; nieces and nephews, U'nyiliah, Gregory, Jayden, Kaylee, Barbie, Kenneth III, Lanston, Kendrix, and Bailey; special cousins, Shaquera and Dominique; and a host of great aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.
