IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Lee
Barber, Jr.
June 17, 1950 – December 15, 2023
Bishop Robert Lee Barber, beloved son of the late Robert Lee Barber and Annie Mae Barber, was born in Leesburg, Georgia on June 17, 1950.
He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Monroe High School. While at Monroe, Solomon gained valuable technical and industrial skills; was actively involved in various student organizations; and took special interest in school activities and sporting events. Desiring to further develop his industrial skills, Robert continued his education at Albany Technical College where he earned an associate degree in welding.
Throughout his childhood, Robert was nurtured in the Word of God. As a youth, he professed his faith and belief in Christ Jesus and was baptized. He was a dedicated member of Third Kiokee Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully in many capacities. As his love for God and the church strengthened, he engaged fully in studying the whole counsel of God as he heeded his call into the ministry and was later ordained in 2006. Realizing that he had a "pastor's"
heart and at the leading of the Holy Spirit, Bishop Barber and his beloved helpmeet Prophetess Trilene Barber organized the Anointed Miracle House of Refuge in 2009. He was a strong man of God who was steadfast in fulfilling the Great Commission of Christ; who boldly taught and preached the Word of God; who mentored other pastors and preachers; and who provided spiritual guidance and encouragement to all who encountered him. In all capacities and walks of life, he knew no strangers. Yes, Bishop Barber believed strongly in the message of the Apostle Paul in Acts 20:24: "Life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good New about God's mighty kindness and love."
A loving husband and dedicated father, Bishop Barber's family was the joy of his life. For more than 38 years, he worked untiringly with the City of Albany to ensure that his family's needs and wants were supplied. As a supervisor in the Traffic and Engineering Department, he gained the trust and admiration of his peers as he lead by example. He was an exceptionally conscientious employee who daily poured himself into his work—always giving his best. Upon retirement, he was lauded for his character, integrity, high expectations, work ethics, loyalty, and perseverance.
Bishop Barber had a brilliant sense of humor; enjoyed time spent at family and church gatherings; loved giving back to the community, helping the needy, and feeding the homeless. He was loved beyond measure and has left footprints that will never be forgotten.
On Friday, December 15, 2023, Almighty God in his infinite wisdom and power called his faithful servant home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Katheryn Miller (Robert), Geraldine Fletcher, and Bessie Thomas; and his mother-in-law, Bernice Chester Thomas.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by his beloved wife, Prophetess Trilene Barber of Albany, GA; his sons, Konterrias Thomas and Zaybain Barber; three spiritual sons, C. J. Curry, Trevor Wilson, and Pastor Antonio Screen; his daughters, Trinesha Barber-Whitehead (Cornelius), Trimonsha Barber, Trimesha Barber, and Karnaisa Whitehead; two spiritual daughters, Joyce Vicks and Twania Young-Jones; two sisters, Georgia Mae Cuttley and Queen Barber (Wayne); a spiritual sister, Linda Bridges; three brothers, James Barber, Anthony Barber, and King Barber (Tammy); The Molden, Thomas, and Chester families; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.
