IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert "Jake"
Beasley
March 8, 1952 – April 12, 2019
Robert Lee Beasley was born in Albany, Georgia on March 8, 1952. He was the beloved son of the late Paul Wingfield and Ruby D. Beasley.
He received his formal education in the public schools of Dougherty County and was active in numerous school organizations and activities.
At a very early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with the Antioch Baptist Church.
In 1972, he was joined in holy matrimony to Freddie Green. Their union was blessed with a loving family that enjoyed many happy years together. Robert was a devoted husband and father who spent much of his time and energy caring for the needs of his family. Over the years, he labored tirelessly as a production worker at Coats and Clark of Albany. No matter what the task, he tackled each assignment with equal importance and prided himself in a job "well done." He retired after rendering more than 40 years of dedicated service.
Robert was a very conscientious individual who embraced opportunities and the chance to experience life with open arms. He was goodhearted and had an everlasting love for family and friends. "Jake" as he was affectionately called, was one of those rare people with the unique ability to draw people toward him and become a part of their lives. He always had a positive attitude, was quick to smile and laugh, and was an expert at making others feel good. He was a loving brother, a nurturing uncle, a caring cousin, and a loyal friend. You couldn't know him without being inspired by his love and devotion. Robert enjoyed being active and had many interests during his life. He was an avid sports fan, an incredible fisherman, and a "jack of all trades" who tinkered around with almost everything. The bond of friendship that he shared with his buddies, Larry Lane and William "Penn" Edwards was unbreakable. He will be deeply missed by all who dearly loved him.
On April 12, 2019, Robert answered the Master's call to eternal rest.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by his devoted wife, Freddie Green Beasley; children, Kelly Beasley, Robert Lee Beasley, Jr., Shauna Jackson, Jeremy Sanford, Octavius Beasley, Kathy Greene Holsey, and Kim (Tony) Fox; grandson, Jalil Moore; brothers, Herrod (Patricia) Beasley of Jacksonville, FL and Tommy (Freda) Hightower of Ellenwood, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in Albany, GA, Grand Rapids, MI, Indianapolis, IN, Jacksonville, FL, and Lithonia, GA.
