Deacon Robert Lee Bell was born November 20, 1954, in Terrell County, Georgia, to the late Louise Laster Bell and Horace Bell, Sr.
He received his formal education in the Terrell County School System. Throughout school, he was an adventurous young man with a zeal for new experiences and was actively involved in many student activities and events.
Robert's love for God and the church began at a very early age growing up in a home in which the Lord was reverenced and worshipped. He was a strong in his faith and committed himself unfaltering in Christian stewardship at Ebenezer Baptist Church where he was ordained as a Deacon under the guidance and leadership of the late Reverend Eddie Josey. Over the years, he was steadfast in service and his encouraging words touched the lives of many people.
Deacon Bell was a dedicated father whose family was the joy of his life. For more than 27 years, he worked untiringly with the City of Albany to provide for his family and to ensure their well-being. He was a loyal, dedicated employee who took great pride in his work and a job well done. In later years, he joined the ranks of employees at Concrete Enterprises where he was hailed as a conscientious worker who was totally committed to his job and always provided superior service.
Often described as a selfless individual, Deacon Bell was friend you could count on and a great conversationalist. His heart was filled with compassion, care, and love. The relationships that he forged through the years nourished his soul. While he was an avid fisherman who loved being outside enjoying the beauty of the earth, he was also an ardent Atlanta Braves fan. He will be remembered for his love for family and friends, and his tireless support of others. His life was a light that will forever shine brightly.
On February 21, 2022, Deacon Bell was called home to be with the Lord. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William Bell.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by his beloved fiancée , Valiere Levewn; his sons, Christopher Taylor, Robert Corey Bell, D'ante Johnson, and Servante Trammell; siblings, Horace Bell, Jr., Eddie Bell, Benie Laster, Kenneth Laster, Jimmy (Brenda) Bell, Willie Mae (Luther) Pittman, Flossie (Nathaniel) Sims, and Shirley (Bobbie) Jones; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
