Robert L. Dixon, beloved son of the late Henry and Lucille Dixon, was born in Terrell County, Georgia on January 26, 1941.
He received his formal education in the Terrell County School System.
Upon the profession of his faith and belief in Christ Jesus, he united with the St. Matthews Missionary Baptist church where he served faithfully until his health declined.
Over the years, Robert developed a longing and passion for what would become his professional skill and trade—Master Painter. His expertise in the industry, creative abilities, and work ethics yielded him the reputation of being "top notch" in his field throughout Southwest Georgia.
Robert was a selfless, hardworking, and generous man who loved his family dearly. He enjoyed sharing stories, engaging people in hours of endless conversation, and spending time with his family and friends. His encouraging words and willingness to help others will long be remembered.
On Wednesday, July 27, 2018, Robert answered his final call and transitioned from labor to reward. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by this brother/caregiver, Thomas Dixon; and two sisters, Ora Polk and Florence Edwards.
He leaves to celebrate the memories of his life a devoted sister-in-law and caregiver, Willie Mae Grant Dixon; three brothers, Albert Dixon and Johnny Dixon of Albany, GA, and Henry (Rosa) Dixon of Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
