Obituary

Robert L. Harris, Sr. was born in Daytona, Florida on August 8, 1939. He was the beloved son and only child of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gay.

During the early years of his life, he was educated in the public schools of Daytona, Florida and Dougherty County.

At an early age, Robert accepted Christ as his personal Savior and began her journey with the Lord. In later years, he united with the New Jerusalem Baptist Church where he was a faithful member. Robert dearly loved the Lord and his church family.

On June 3, 1962, she was united in holy matrimony to Katheryn Boyd. This union was blessed with a loving family which they nurtured with patience, discipline, humility, and love. Robert was an extremely conscientious individual who was passionate about his family and his work. Over the years, he was employed as a Supervisor with M & M Mars of Albany and worked tirelessly to ensure that no task was left undone. Robert retired after rendering many years of loyal and dedicated service.

Loving husband, dutiful father, committed uncle, and reliable friend, Robert was known as a generous, enlightened man who gave freely of himself to his community and anyone in need. He had a great sense of humor, brilliant wit, and an incredible love for family and friends. He was full of life, often told jokes and made people laugh, and always found the silver lining in any situation. He enjoyed westerns on Saturday, sitting on the porch savoring nature, and reminiscing with friends—sharing fond stories and memories. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

On Friday, August 24, 2018, Robert was called home, joining his beloved wife, Katheryn in eternal rest.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by his children, Frances Green, Linda Harris, Esther Harris, Rhonda Harris, Tammy Harris, Barbara Harris, Robert Harris, Jr., and Irma Harris; 20 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
