IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert L.
Jones
March 31, 1986 – May 14, 2025
Though God may not reveal his reasons, he has revealed his character. He makes no mistakes. His ways are higher than ours, beyond our understanding. Yet in our sorrow, we find peace in knowing. He watches over us with perfect love and wisdom.
Robert Lorenzo Jones, Jr. was born on March 31, 1986, to Robert Jones, Sr. and Brenda Davis McRae.
He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System. Endearingly called "Toot" and "Big Rob" by family, friends, and classmates, Robert was a lively and energetic young man who was always ready for adventure; gained valuable industrial skills; and actively participated in various school functions and activities.
At an early age, he joined New Fellowship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Clayton D. Smith. Later in life, he united with Victorious Life Church under the leadership of Bishop J. Nathan Paige, where he served as an usher. Proudly, he stood at his post greeting and ushering the congregation into the worship service.
An Industrial Painter by profession, Robert had a deep passion for his work. For over 20 years, he was employed by several companies in the local area, including EP Contractors, Bardge Construction, and Terry's Ceramics. His work at each job setting not only brought him happiness, but also allowed him to express his creative artistic side through every brushstroke.
Toot/Big Rob' possessed a very long and caring spirit. He found great comfort and tranquility in the simple pleasures of life—fishing, painting, and spending time with family and friends who were held close to his heart. Being outdoors was second nature to him and he truly embraced the warmth and beauty of nature.
On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, it has pleased Almighty God to remove our beloved Robert Jones, Jr. from our midst. His grace and mercy assure us, that death is not the end. Therefore, we believe in His promise that we will see Robert again. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jerome McRae; grandparents, Mable Coleman, Deacon Dave Curtis Jones, and Oscar Davis; and two uncles, Robert Lee Rogers and Rufus Loud.
Loving memories will forever remain with his loving and caring mother, Brenda Davis McRae; his father, Robert L. Jones, Sr.; siblings, Tamashia Jones, Jada McRae, and Davita Jones; his grandmother, Fannie Pittman (Eugene); uncles and aunts, Melvin (Terry) Parker, Mary (Roy) Evans, Debra J. (Terry) Parker, Bobby Jones, Janice (Lloyd) Anderson, Wayne (Bianca) McCormick, Ollie Loud, and Latonya Frazier Maples; close friends, Johntavious Williams and Andre S. Elliott; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
