IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert
Jones
May 19, 1938 – April 20, 2020
Robert J. Jones, son of Mrs. Alice Mae Jones and the late Mr. Henry Jones, was born May 19, 1938, in Albany, Georgia.
He received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System. During the early years of his life, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Robert was a very persistent individual whose professional work life was very rewarding. He was an incredibly skilled and gifted dry wall installer and finisher whose craftmanship was put to task in the construction industry for innumerable years. His expertise and professional ethics were second to none and he worked tirelessly to ensure that no task was ever left undone.
Jabo, as he was affectionately called, loved his family; treasured his friends; and was always "on call" to help anyone in need. He had a big heart for all things in life. Robert was the best son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend that anyone could ever be fortunate enough to have. Along with his ability to laugh and love unconditionally, he was the confidant and acceptor of people as they were. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of being a part of his life.
On April 20, 2020, with his daughter Beverly by his side, God called Robert to a sweet place of rest. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny "Don" Jones and James "Woo" Walker; and his grandson, Aretavius "Wezo" Washington.
He leaves fond memories that will forever be cherished by his mother, Mrs. Alice Jones; children, Beverly Jones, Derrick (Patrice) Jones, Regis Jones, Sherrill (Alphonzo) Mitchell, Ren é (Edward) Jenkins, and R. J. Roberts all of Albany, GA, and Tony (Coretta) Jones of Hampton, GA; seven siblings, Wade Jones, Robert (Merita) Jones, Elizabeth Williams, Katie Evans, Roxie Taylor, Helen (Nonkey) Smith, and Linda (Vincent) Russell all of Albany, GA; twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends .
