IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert
Mitchell
September 3, 1971 – January 13, 2025
Robert Shaft (Fuquan) Mitchell, affectionately known as "Baby Fu," was born on September 3, 1971, in Newark, New Jersey, to Dorothy Mitchell and Henry Jay Johnson. Raised in a loving environment, Robert attended school in the Essex County School system and graduated from Malcolm Shabazz City High School. He pursued careers in carpentry and music, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit.
From an early age, Robert was a joyful child, often complimented for his deep dimples and infectious smile. He had a passion for gymnastics and a talent for making people laugh and loved to dance and would dance his butt off. Known for his trademark habit of sucking his thumb and playfully popping collars against one's cheek, Robert's childhood was filled with cherished family gatherings between Newark and Plainfield, fostering inseparable bonds.
Robert, fondly called "Fu," had many influential people in his life, including aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. In 1997, Robert relocated to Albany, Georgia, with his cousin Anthony Rich. It was there that he met Shenita LaJoyce Williams in March 1998. Their friendship blossomed into a loving relationship, culminating in marriage in April 2000.
His career began in warehousing, where he excelled and rose to the position of supervisor before retiring due to illness.
On Monday, January 13, 2025, our beloved Husband, Brother, Father, Uncle, Grandfather, and Cousin answered the ultimate call to eternal rest at home in Albany, Georgia, with his wife Joyce Mitchell by his side.
