Robyn Beth George-Thornton was born April 9, 1967, in Lee County, Georgia to the parentage of Clair R. Covin-George and St. John Carter.

She was educated in the Lee County School System, graduating from Lee County High School in the Class of 1985.  Robyn was a proud "Trojan" and actively participated in various student organizations and activities.  Hailing from a family that valued higher education, Robyn pursued a degree in nursing at Georgia Southwestern College University. In 1987, she proudly crossed over into the Mu Mu Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, having distinctively borne the line name "#1 Attitude".  She continued her education at Draughons Jr. College--Marietta campus. While there, she obtained an associate degree in medical assistant. Robyn later pursued a degree in nursing at Georgia Perimeter College and Darton College.  At Darton, she obtained a degree in Medical Billing and Coding.

At an early age, Robyn professed her faith and belief in Christ Jesus; was baptized; and united with the Phillip Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend George Poole.  She later became a member of Grace Point Nazarene Church in Loganville, Georgia under the leadership of Pastor Don Deal.  Robyn's faith never wavered through life's challenges and illness. Her resilience was a true testament to who she was and who's she was.  Her strength, commitment to family and faith was ever present until the day she drew her last breath.

A highly motivated, persistent, and conscientious individual, Robyn was collectively employed at Rugby Pharmaceuticals, Southern Neurophysiological, Gwinnet County Police Department, ResCare, and Open Arms, Inc. for many years. While her work at each venue proved to be rewarding, she later sought employment at Aveanna Health Care where she worked untiringly until her health declined.  Throughout her career, Robyn worked hard to consistently pursue excellence in her daily performance.

Affectionately known as "Shugg," Robyn was a forgiving, firm, and generous soul who opened her heart and home to all who needed a helping hand.  Her personality outshined silver and gold.  She was truly a lover of God's Word and God's people.  To know her was to love her; and she was dearly loved by many people who had the privilege of being a part of her life.

On Saturday, August 26, 2023, Robyn peacefully transitioned from labor to reward surrounded by her family.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Deborah L. George-Butts; and her grandparents, LC and Mary Lee Covin.

Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of her loving daughters, Ravyn (Gerald) Thornton of Monroe, GA and Rayna Thornton of Byron, GA; six grandchildren that were truly the apple of her eyes, Reagan, Rani, Rhia, Reilynn, Rasani, and Gerald Jr.; her siblings, Marilyn M. George and Paula R. (Keith) Walcott of Byron, GA, Benjamin G. (Halley) George of Johns Creek, GA, Tomica C. George of Winterville, GA, Anwar C. George of Norcross, GA, Solomon (Sharlene) Carter of Augusta, GA, St. John (Ann) Carter of San Antonio, TX, Elizabeth (Ray) Holloway of Desoto, GA, Janie (Bobby) Jackson, Linda Sims, and Travis (Sharon) Bartley all of Americus, GA, Casandra (Clyde) Frazer of Orangeburg, SC, and Lakeitha (Arnezz) Hillie of Pocono, PA; two devoted nieces, Ne'Undrea Holt and Clairessa Thomas both of Byron, GA;  uncles and aunt, Eddie Covin Sr. and Rosie (Jesse) Batten; very special friends Deloris Pettway, Michelle Tubbs, Renee Mays, Lucy Bailey, Claudette Brooks, Bruce, Rakeisha, and Wanda; and an abundance of sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
