Rochester Butler was born in Terrell County on June 18, 1939, to the late Eddie Lee and Dessie Butler.

During the early years of his life, he attended the public schools of Terrell County.

Rochester's work career was marked by several employment ventures that enabled him to care for his family unconditionally. He was a loving father and grandfather who was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Rochester was a very kind and gentle-hearted person who embraced life's experiences with open arms. His kind words and deeds were deeply felt by family and friends and his engaging personality captured the hearts of all who knew him.

On Thursday, June 20, 2017, Rochester's season of life ended and quietly entered into eternal rest.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Rochester Butler, Jr., Thomas Clyde, and Wender Jenrett.
