Obituary

Rosa Lee Scott Johnson, daughter of the late Lonnie Prince Scott and Lula Mae Williams Scott, was born May 6, 1949, in Turner County, Georgia.

She was educated in the Turner County School System where she was active in numerous school organizations and activities.  Throughout school, Rosa had a kind heart and a deep passion for helping others and she took great pleasure in doing so.  Her kindheartedness and compassion later spurred her to complete the requirements to become a certified nursing professional.

Rosa's Christian experience began at an early age when she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with South Ashburn Holiness Church.  As she availed herself in Christian service, she often fellowshipped with various other churches in the community.  She was a God-fearing woman who dearly loved the Lord, fervently studied His Word, and was always willing to share her knowledge of the Word with others.  Yes, she trusted God completely and was guided by His instructions.  Oftentimes in her daily walk, she could be heard encouraging others to "Serve God and give Him your all  because payday is coming."  Rosa stayed on the battlefield and the day God called her home, she was ready!

Having been mesmerized and totally captivated by Willie C. Johnson, at age 18, they were united in holy matrimony.  Their union endured through the years and they were blessed with four wonderful sons.  Rosa was a committed wife and mother who devoted her life to caring  for the needs of her family through her employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Ashburn Health Care.  Her natural gift of serving people spilled over into her work as she lovingly cared for her patients with dignity, respect, and true compassion.  She retired as her health began to deteriorate, having rendered years of loyal and dedicated service.

Always gentle and kind, Rosa saw the beauty in all things, accepted everyone for who they were, and openly welcomed them into her heart and home.  She was looked upon as a trusted counsel, a difference maker, and a genuinely loyal friend.  She had an over-flowing abundance of love for her family and  enjoyed spending quality time with them which always resulted in long-lasting memories.

Rosa was called home to be with the Lord on March 27, 2021, in Dacula, Georgia.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie C. Johnson; a son, Willie Lee Johnson; and three siblings, Billy C. Scott, Bobby L. Scott, and Mary Ellen Poke.

Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of her sons, Willie G. Johnson and Dennis L. Johnson of Cordele, GA, and Eric (Megan) Johnson of Albany, GA; siblings, Elsa L. (Corine) Scott of Sycamore, GA, Jimmy L. (Judy) Scott of Decatur, GA, Mary L. (Willie) Office of Adel, GA, Lonnie Richardson of Sylvester, GA, Loretta (Robert) Harvey of Atlanta, GA, Charlene Collins of Warner Robins, GA, and Sandra Ann Scott of Tifton, GA; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
