Obituary

Rosa Keigler Thomas, beloved daughter of Willie Keigler and Bessie Cleveland, was born May 26, 1939, in Albany, Georgia.

She received her formal education in the Dougherty County School System and was active in various school activities and functions.

Very early in life, Rosa heeded the call of Christ and accepted Him as her Lord and Savior. She later united with the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Arelious Ousley, Jr. Through the years, she remained steadfast and unmovable; always giving God the glory and the praise.

Rosa's life was filled with service to all mankind. For numerous years, she was employed as a domestic worker; ensuring the proper management of various households. She put a lot of effort into making others happy, always had a positive attitude, was quick to smile and laugh, and was an expert at making people feel special.

Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin, Rosa enjoyed the basics of life and treasured the time spent with her family. Her doors were always open and her table was always spread not only to family, but to anyone in need. "Mama" as she was affectionately called by many, never met a stranger and could converse with anyone who came into her life. She had a servant's heart—the distance she would go for her family was also the distance she would go for a friend. Rosa had a passion for flowers and was often found enjoying the outdoors, tending to her flowers and plants.

On April 21, 2020, she transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of being a part of her life. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Thomas, Jr.; and three children, Arthur, Nathan, and Anthony Morris.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by her children, Charles E. (Shanda) Morris of Chicago, IL and Gwendolyn (Kenneth) Morris of Albany, GA; siblings, Nathan (Leola) Cleveland of Tallahassee, FL, and Elizabeth Acree and Algine Keigler both of Albany, GA; sister-in-law, Diane Gaines; six grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
