Obituary

The season of life for Rose Lillian Bruce began on May 8, 1944, in Fort Valley, Georgia. She was the beloved daughter of the late Edgar and Annie Ruth Shannon.

She received her early childhood and secondary education in the Peach County School System, graduating from Hunt High School in 1962.
Throughout school, Rose was a very inquisitive student with a zeal for learning and a desire to help others.

At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Savior and remained prayerful in her daily walk.

In 1972, Rose was united in marriage to James E. Tunstall. Their union was blessed with three children. Later, in 1975, she married Christopher Bruce and with this union, one child was born. Domestic at heart, Virginia was a conscientious, meticulous homemaker who ate not the bread of idleness.

Through the years, she was diligent in caring for the needs of her family. She had a quiet strength, never complained, and always looked forward to family gatherings filled with love and laughter.

Always gentle and kind, Lilliam saw the beauty in all things, accepted everyone for who they were, and openly welcomed them into her heart and home. She was looked upon as a trusted counsel and a genuinely loyal friend. She had an abundance of over-flowing love for her family and enjoyed spending quality time with them, which always resulted in long-lasting memories.

Facing the sunset of her earthly journey, Rose quietly transitioned to her eternal home on May 26, 2023. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands; and one sister, Jacqueline Shannon.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by her children, Felicia Love, Sonja (Bobby) Walker, Wendy (Reggie) Cunningham, and James A. Tunstall; two bonus children, Christopher J. (Wondra) Bruce, Jr. and Sheryl (Timothy)
Millet; siblings, Randy Wootson, Marcus (Jennifer) Wootson, and Linda (Will) Williams; grandchildren, Jaunice Redditt, Octavian Lewis, Darian (Jasmine) Tunstall, Tracey Farrell, Kharon Bryant, Chelsea Farrell, Christopher Farrell, and Ayana Jones; eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
