Obituary

Rosie Mae Bob, beloved daughter of the late Fannie Mae and Albert Bob, Sr., was born in Herod, Georgia on September 29, 1935.

She received her formal education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Monroe High School. She continued her quest for knowledge at Albany State College.

From a very early age, Rosie was immersed in the Christian community that would be her lifelong support. As a youth, she heeded the call of Christ and began her journey with the Lord at Zion Hill Baptist Church of Herod, Georgia. After moving to New York in 1957, she remained steadfast in her Christian walk and was very active in her administrative duties in the finance department of her church. In later years after returning to Georgia to care for her mother, she united with the New Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of her brother, the late Reverend Albert Bob, Jr. She was a faithful, dedicated member and willingly served wherever needed until her health failed.

Rosie was a very persistent, hardworking individual who ate not the bread of idleness. For almost 45 years, she was a reliable and committed subway transit employee for the State of New York. Throughout her career, she gave her best at all times and retired after rendering loyal and dedicated service.

Family and friends meant the world to Rosie and she was a source of encouragement and joy to everyone she met. Her home was a revolving door for friends and family and they all loved her dearly. One of the joys of her life was cooking and her table was always spread not only to family, but to anyone in need. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, taking pictures, and on-line shopping, The strong bonds of friendship that she developed through the years will forever be cherished and remembered.

On February 5, 2020, Rosie peacefully entered into eternal rest . In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Doris Davis and Reverend Albert Bob, Jr.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by her devoted sister-in-law and caregiver, Laura Bob; her daughter, LaShaun (Tampa); grandchildren, Edwin Lamal (Simone) Brightmon and William Shawn Davis; great grandson, Miles Kendrick Brightmon; dedicated nieces and nephews, Yolanda, Beverly, Barbara, Leon, Linda, Bobby, and Sharon; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
