Obituary

Rosie Lee Ousley was born in Sasser, Georgia on August 15, 1938.  She was the loving daughter of the late James and Leola Ousley.

She was educated in the Terrell County School System.  Throughout school, Rosie was a lively, energetic young lady with a yearning to be of service to others, and a ray of sunshine to teachers, classmates, and close friends.

From a very early age, Rosie was taught the Word of God and the importance of living a life of strong character and loving kindness.  As a youth, she accepted Christ as her Savior and began her journey of Christian stewardship at County Line Baptist Church in Sasser.  There, she served faithfully in numerous capacities.   In later years after relocating to Albany, Georgia, she united with Beulah Missionary Baptist Church.  Through the years, she proudly stood at her post  greeting and ushering the congregation into the worship service.  She loved her Usher ministry and remained steadfast, unmovable, and committed to her calling.

A very conscientious and persistent individual, Rosie had a natural gift of caring for others and spent innumerable years as a domestic worker, while bringing care and dignity to every home she touched.  She was incredibly kind, compassionate, and greatly loved by all.  Not only was she a dedicated worker, she was also a beloved presence in her community.  Unreservedly, she welcomed friends, family, and neighbors into her heart and home.

Blessed beyond measure, Rosie lived a rich and rewarding life; reached the hallowed age of 87; and left an enduring legacy of kindness, laughter, generosity, and dedication that she shared with family and friends.  She was a beacon of light who will be deeply missed.

On September 14, 2025, Rosie transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest with the Lord.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, James Ousley, Jr. and Eura Dell Thomas; and one grandson.

Loving memories will forever remain with her children, Ricky Ousley, Valerie Ousley, Tyrone Ousley, and Taspha Ousley; siblings, Ola Pearl (Harrison) Bellamy of Florida, Josephine O. Wright and Eugene Ousley both of Atlanta, GA, and Evangelist Thessalonia Stubbs of Michigan; a special friend/sister, Doris Collier; and seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
