IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rubiann "Ruby"
Stevenson
January 21, 1968 – April 19, 2025
Rubiann Jackson was born January 21, 1963 to the late Betty Malone and Jimmie Lee Jackson in Albany, GA.
Ruby received her formal education in the Dougherty County School System and graduated in 1981 from Monroe Comprehensive High School. She believed education and learning was a never ending process and stressed the importance of education to her children and grandchildren.
Ruby accepted Christ and joined the New Life Apostolic Church in Albany, GA. Even though she wasn't able to attend church every Sunday, Ruby carried the presence of God deep within her soul. One belief routinely exhibited was 1 Corinthians 13:13, "And now faith, hope, and love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love". Ruby emphasized love as the most important virtue through her servant spirit and belief that family was everything. She demonstrated this love throughout her life by her generosity and immeasurable spirit of unity. That same spirit carried over into her employment where she worked as a faithful servant for Cintas, Arby's Restaurant and M&M Mars for many years.
Shortly after sunrise on Saturday, April 19, 2025 God spoke to Ruby saying, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live. And everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die" John 11:25-26. While surrounded by family, Ruby, hearing God's call to live in a "new body" slipped quietly out of the Wilson Hospice House to answer the Lord our God's call to eternal peace.
Ruby's memory and legacy will live on with those she loved and those who loved her dearly; her husband, Dennis Stevenson; her children: Sekonea Sims (Jimmy) and Rico Malone (Devona); her siblings: Linda Woodson, Patricia Jackson, Ozell (Phyllis) Allen, Jeffrey (Tamera) Adams, Glenn (Sharon) Adams, Cedrick Adams, Anthony Lofton, all of Albany, GA, Kethon (Angela) Adams of Ft. Worth, TX, and Eric Jackson (Clinton, MD);Grandchildren: McKenzie Sims, Jaleel Garrison-Sims, Katilyn Sims, Jayden Sims, Detwaun Sewell, and Daveon Sanders; an aunt, Bonnie (Curtis) Collins of Albany, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who will forever treasure their cherished memories with her. Ruby was preceded in death by her loving mother, Betty Malone, brother, Arthur Malone and niece, Marquita Adams.
