Ruby Lee Dudley Scott was born on December 23, 1932 to the late Nixon H. Carter, Sr. and the late Rosa Lee Carter Dudley in Leary, Georgia.

She attended school at St. Peter Church and retired from M&M Mars in 1993 with 23 years of dedicated service.

In 1944, Ruby joined Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church and was given the distinguished title of Mother of the Church in 2000. She was a dedicated and faithful member for more than 75 years.

In 1949, Ruby was joined in Holy Matrimony to Earl Scott and their union lasted for 68 years.

She was a loving mother of nine children, with her second born son preceding her in death.

Ruby departed this life on March 30, 2021. She leaves memories to cherish with her sons: William Scott, Melvin Scott, Leonard Scott, Jerry Scott, Mack (Sherrilyn) Scott and Brian (Geneva) Scott, a grandson whom she raised as her son; daughters: Delbra Scott Engram, Catherine Scott Jackson (Jeffery), and Rosemary Scott Carter (Samuel). Her memories will also be cherished by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters; Johnnie Virgina Nelson and Barbara "Jean" Dudley, one cousin, who was like a sister to her; Daisy Washington, close sisters in law, Mary Oliver and  Pearline Scott, friends; Evelyn George and Aunt Grace Dudley. She was blessed with many nieces, nephews, cousins, goddaughters, and friends; all who will miss her dearly.
