Obituary

Ruby (Boo-Tee) Edwards was born on January 25th, 1941 to the late Charlie and Eveylyn Johnson Sr.
Ruby (BooTee) as she was affectionately known was educated in the Calhoun County School System. After moving to Albany with her family, she met the love of her life, the late Mr.Wille (Booma) Hayes and united in holy Matrimony on May 25th, 1957. Through this union three children were born. Drucilla, Douglas and Maceo.

She was employed at Bishop Dry Cleaning, Coats & Clark Industry, and Flint River Textile where she retired.
Ruby confessed Christ at an early age, joining Arcadia Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. R. C. Crouch. There she served faithfully on the Culinary Ministry, Nurses Aide, General Mission and the Deaconess Ministry.
She later joined Christian Life Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Raymond Polite. She proudly served on the Deaconess, Nurses Aide, General Mission, Titus Women, and the Senior's Ministry. On July 12th, Ruby became the Mother of the Church, which she held until her heavenly departure.

During her trending years, she was a member of the Ladies Social Club contributing to different organizations. BooTee's favorite hobby was fishing, where she would often take her grandkids with her. When she was not on the fish creek, she would be pouring her love and affection into her sweet treats in the kitchen. BooTee was known for her delicious Sweet Potato Pies, Pecan Pies, Red Velvet Cakes, Chess Bars, Banana Pudding and Banana Spice Cake. Also her unforgettable Brunswick Stew will simmer in our mines for years to come. BooTee's passion for baking made her a magnet for everlasting friendships for so many who loved her dearly.
