Obituary

Ruby Nell Jackson Causby , the fourth child of the late Tillman and Pearlie Mae Jackson, was born on June 21, 1949.

She was educated in the public schools of Lee County and graduated from the Lee County Training School in 1968. While attending Lee County Training, she excelled in mathematics and competed in numerous mathematical competitions. After graduation, she furthered her education at Albany State College majoring in Education with a concentration in Special Education.

As a youth, Ruby heeded the call of Christ and began her journey with the Lord at the Wooden Grove Baptist Church in Leesburg, Georgia under the leadership of Pastor Murray Willis. After moving to Albany, she activated the principles of the church covenant and united with the Beulah Baptist Church under the guidance of the late Reverend J. H. Reynolds. She was an active and faithful member of the choir for thirty-three years and was currently serving as the Business Secretary.

Throughout her life, Ruby held fast to her belief that work is honorable. She labored untiringly in the workforce and retired after 33 years of dedicated service. In the midst of her professional career, she was hailed as a committed, dedicated, and reliable employee.

Loving mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and loyal friend, Ruby's heart was filled with love and compassion. She was a very perceptive, good natured and generous lady who was a joy to be around.   To know her was to love and respect her. The strong bonds of friendship that she developed through the years will forever be cherished and remembered.

Root , as she was affectionately called, answered her final call on April 30, 2017, and she entered into eternal rest. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jonas Jackson, Julius Jackson, and Tillman Jackson, Jr.

She leaves to carry on her legacy of love two devoted children, Regenia (James) Brown and Antonio (Angela) Jackson of Albany, GA; four siblings, Ada Barbara, Bettie Rich, Rushie Jackson and Willie Jackson all of Albany, GA; eight grandchildren, Anterrio Marshall, Airelle Brown, Jazzmine Brown, Chaviya Jackson, Trinity Brown, Trevin Wally, Jalexus Harris, and Emmanuel Harris; two great grandchildren, Jayden Williams and Caiden Spurlin; two god-daughters, Tonya Jackson and Ella Woodson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Please don't say I gave up, just say, that I gave in.
Don't say that I lost the battle, for it was God's ware to lose or win.
Please don't say how good I was, but that I did my best
Just say I tried to do what's right, to give the most I could, not do less.
Please don't give me wings or a halo,—that's for God to do
I want no more than I deserve, no extras just my due.
I'm well with God—I've made it home!
