IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ruby Jean
Johnson
June 29, 1957 – August 3, 2017
She attended the public schools of Worth County, including J. W. Holley High School where she was active in various school activities and functions.
On June 29, 1976, she was united in holy matrimony to John Henry Johnson, Sr. This union stood the test of time and was blessed with many happy years. As a wife and mother, Ruby held fast to her belief that work is honorable. She was employed with the Harambee Head Start Program for more than 20 years and labored untiringly until her health declined. Ruby was a committed, dedicated, and reliable employee.
Devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, caring sister, nurturing aunt, reliable cousin, and compassionate friend, Ruby was good natured, generous, and a pleasure to be around. She believed strongly in family ties and responsibilities, and took advantage of every opportunity to spend time with them. She was a completely selfless person who was always willing to help others, without asking anything in return. The strong bonds of friendship that she developed through the years will forever be cherished and remembered.
On Thursday, August 3, 2017, Ruby quietly transitioned to her eternal home.
Ruby leaves to mourn her passing and cherish loving memories her beloved husband, John Henry Johnson, Sr.; five children, Janice Hunt, Jennifer Johnson, John Henry (Callanda) Johnson, Jr., and Cory Johnson of Albany, GA, and Melisse Evans of Atlanta, GA; nine siblings, Carolyn (Jon) Smith and Marsha Hunt of Jacksonville, FL, Linavine (Vlad) Johnson, Wanda Hunt, Coretta Woodliff, Tarwarner Woodliff, Rudolph (Leola) Hunt, Jr., Terry Hunt all of Albany, GA, and Don (Lahoma) Hunt of Killeen, TX; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, and uncles; a devoted friend, Beverly Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
