IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ruby Jewell
Mallard
February 16, 1951 – May 12, 2021
Ruby Jewell Mallard was born February 16, 1941, in Worth County, Georgia. She was the beloved daughter of the late Elizabeth and James Williams.
During the early years of her life, she attended the public schools of Dougherty County and was active in various student activities.
Ruby's Christian experience began at an early age when she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, was baptized, and united with the Piney Grove Baptist Church. Over the years, she was a faithful member who served willing wherever needed until her health declined. Even in the midst of adversity, she always had a smile on her face and the joy of the Lord in her heart.
In 1971, she was united in holy matrimony to Curtis Mallard and their union was blessed with loving and caring children. Ruby was a devoted wife, mother, and meticulous homemaker who was most diligent in caring for the needs of her family. She had a quiet strength, never complained, and always looked forward to a better future, even when times were tough. Ruby was the glue that held them all together.
Throughout life, she unselfishly gave of herself to help others and never asked anything in return. Ruby was an excellent cook and spent many hours in the kitchen creating mouth-watering dishes for family and friends. Her doors were always open and her table was always spread for anyone who wanted to enjoy a soulful meal. Her kind, gentle spirit will always have a very special place in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
On Wednesday, May 12, 2021, Ruby was called home to eternal peace and rest. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curtis Mallard; her son, Rufus Mallard, and two brothers, Louis Ray and Leroy Williams.
Precious memories will forever be cherished by her children, Sharon Mallard, Gregory (Carla) Mallard, Curtis Mallard, Jr., Jamie Mallard, Ausha Mallard, Curtis (Helen) Walker. Tameria Strawder, and Gwendolyn (Bernard) Wilson; siblings, Alice Lamar, Mattie (Ricky) Jones, James (Jackie) Williams, Walter (Jennifer) Tellis and Rufus Tellis; sisters-in-law, Clara Ray and Lee Evelyn Coffee; brother-in-law, Fletcher Mallard; 27 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; a very special cousin, Maggie Anderson; caregiver, Ruth Milledge; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
