IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rufus Charles
Ingram
June 21, 1957 – October 14, 2024
Rufus Charles Ingram was born June 21, 1957, in Albany, Georgia. He was the son of the late John Ingram and Doris Newsome Ingram.
He was received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Westover High School. Throughout school, Rufus was a very bright and inquisitive young man who garnered much from his educational and co-curricular experiences.
At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverence Horace C. Boyd. His faith and trust in the Lord guided his life and enabled him to be a beacon of light to everyone in his midst.
Rufus was a very conscientious, independent individual with an everlasting love for his family. Being a father was one of the greatest joys of his life and he never faltered in his duties and responsibilities. Throughout his career with Flint River Textiles of Albany, he never shied away from hard work; constantly exceeded department goals; and always gave his best—no matter what the task. He was a loyal, dedicated employee who rendered outstanding and unparalleled service. In his leisure, he enjoyed browsing at the flea market; grilling and cooking for his family; and listening to music.
On October 14, 2024, Rufus transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest. While his earthly departure leaves a void in the hearts so many whose lives were deeply touched by him, his love, gentle spirit, and unfaltering kindness will forever be remembered. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Eric Ingram; five siblings, Mary Alice Oliver, Kenneth Ingram, Clinton Cuttle, Jr., Melvin Jerome Ingram, and Michael Thomas; and one aunt, Cora Henderson.
Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of his children, Rufus (Nicole) Ingram, JaDavia Ingram, Rontavious Ingram, and Kimora Ingram; his grandchildren, Eric Ingram, Erika Ingram, Jamari Calloway, Journee Ingram, Jaycee Davis, and Jaylee Davis; a great grandchild, Erielle Ingram; siblings, Gloria (Enrique) Boyd, Bertha Thomas, Cathy Ingram, Debbie Chamgers, and Cedrick Ingram; his aunt, Helena Britton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
