Obituary

Rushie Belinda Jackson, the fifth child of the late Tillman and Perlie Mae Jackson, was born on August 18, 1951.  The formative years of her life were spent in Georgia; however, she moved to Darby, Pennsylvania at the age of 15 to live with her aunt and uncle, Rushie and Joe Lindsey.

She received her middle grades and secondary education in the Delaware County School System, graduating from Darby-Colwyn High School in 1970.  Throughout  school, Rushie was an extremely talented student who took advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow.

Rushie began her professional career as the lead supervisor of the Nutrition and Dietary Department at Saint Frances Nursing Home.  She was a very conscientious, fair-minded leader who was well respected by her co-workers.  In later years, she was employed with the William Penn School District as Head Custodian of Environmental Services. She  retired after rendering numerous years of unparalleled service.

While in Darby, Rushie united with First Baptist Church under the  pastorate of the late Reverend Roland V. Jones.  There, she availed herself unwaveringly in Christian stewardship.  She was also an active member of the Order of Eastern Stars.  In later years after retirement, Rushie relocated to Albany, Georgia where she activated the principles of the church covenant and united with St. Peters Baptist Church under the guidance of Reverend Ollie Petty. She was a dedicated, faithful member who was steadfast in service and gave of herself freely.

Loving mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Rushie's heart was filled with kindness and compassion.  She was a very perceptive, generous lady who was a joy to be around.  Rushie has left an indelible mark in the hearts of her family and friends.  She will be long be remembered  by her loving words of encouragement, "May God Bless Us All."

Lynn, as she was endearingly called, answered her final call to eternal rest on August 19, 2023.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Jonas Jackson, Julius Jackson, Tillman Jackson, Jr., and Ruby Causby Jackson.

Cherished memories will forever remain with her devoted daughters, Sherene Hope and Veronica Jackson; siblings, Ada Barbara, Bettie Rich, Willie (Latricia) Jackson, William Jackson, and Michelle Patterson; grandchildren, Antwan Seay, Aamir Jackson, Malachi Jordan, Silisa Jackson, Navae Wells, Angel Hicks, Princess Hicks, Albert Jerome, Jr., and Roshay Hope; great grandchild, Amayah Byers; life-long friend, Dottie Roberts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends..
