Ruth Thella Childs, also affectionately known to some as (Skip), was born September 25, 1942 in Baker County, Georgia to the late Mr. Roy Childs and Mrs. Martha Green Childs.

She was educated in the public schools of Baker County.  She was employed for years with John Bradley barbecue place here in Albany, Georgia.  She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and joined Weldon Springs Baptist Church. Upon locating to Albany, she joined Ebenezer Baptist Church and later joined Greater Grace Church of God in Christ.

The joys of her life was reading the Bible, watching Jimmy Swaggart, fishing, doing crossword puzzles, planting flowers, and sitting on the porch spending time with family and friends.

On Wednesday, November 8, 2017 her spirit was released to be forever present with the Lord after enduring an illness of which she never complained.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin daughters, Lavita Ann Childs and Laquita Ann Childs, a son Cory Percel Childs, two sisters Hazel Childs, and Marjorie Harold, two brothers Donnie Childs and Leroy Childs.

Memories will be cherished by her children, Katrina Denise (Nathan) Bodie of Sanford, Florida, Stacey Childs, Latara Childs; six grandsons, Raydarius Childs, Christopher Childs-Allen, Bailey Childs, Jonathan Bodie, Jaeden Bodie, Nathan Cory Bodie of Sanford, Florida, and one very precious granddaughter, Nakeithia Childs, affectionately known as Lilly; one brother, Jesse (Velma deceased) Childs; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
