IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sammie Lee
Hall
March 20, 1956 – June 15, 2021
Sammie Lee Hall was born March 20, 1956, in Leesburg, Georgia. He was the son of the late Joe and Birtha D. Hall.
He received his formal education in the Lee Cunty School System while actively participating in various school functions and activities.
At a very early age, Sammie professed his faith in Christ and began his Christian walk with the Lord at Piney Grove #3 Baptist Church. Through the years, he was a faithful member and willingly worked wherever needed. His life was undergirded by a resolute devotion to God and the fellowship with his church family.
"Bo Bo," as he was fondly called, was deeply rooted in the soil. As a youth, he developed an unquenchable passion for farming and fishing that endured throughout his lifetime. Whether tilling the soil, planting or harvesting crops, or simply driving a tractor, he looked upon each task with equal importance and gave each of them his ALL. Farming was in Sammie's blood and he enjoyed the feeling that came after a hard day's work.
Family and friends were among his greatest treasures and he looked forward to spending time with them. Sammie found joy in every circumstance, relished in the simple things in life, and his jovial attitude left an unforgettable impression on all who knew him. He was kind, but he also commanded respect—when he spoke, others listened. Sammie will long be remembered for his sense of style and humor, his generosity, and most of all for his tireless support for others.
On June 15, 2021, Sammie transitioned from this earthly life at his home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his devoted companion, Betty Phillips; siblings, Tommie L. Hubbard, Frank Hall, and Wanda Jean Mays; a stepdaughter, Betty A. Phillips; and one nieces, Martha R. Fuller Hill.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by his siblings, Reverend Johnny (Barbara) Hall, Kenith (Nettie) Hall, Reverend Raymond (Cynthia) McCary, Joel (Iris) Hall, Mary Lizzie Harris, Mary Alice (Henry) Carter, Shirley Ann Hall, Shenita (Charlie) Hall, Annie Ruth Thomas, and Maelou Davis; stepchildren, Doris Odoms, Carolyn (Silas) Jackson, Mabel (Alkin) Smith, Ruthann Wellborn, Beurena (Wayne) Huntley, Michael Phillips, and L. C. Phillips; thirty-one step-grandchildren; innumerable step great grandchildren; special friends, Rosa Wright, George Rivers, Robert Acres, Willie C. Colbert, and Bob Bryant; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
