Sharica Nekcol Cox, born on June 19, 1980, entered into rest on July 7, 2026. Fondly known to many as "Nee-Nee," Sharica’s journey through life was marked by strength, warmth, and genuine kindness that endeared her to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Throughout her 46 years, Sharica built a legacy of love and compassion. Her unique spirit and radiant presence left an indelible mark on the hearts of family, friends, and her wider community. Those who spent time with Sharica knew her as a steady source of joy and encouragement; a person who genuinely took interest in others and gave selflessly of herself.
Though words can only begin to capture the essence of Sharica’s life, her memory continues to inspire those she leaves behind. Her ability to bring people together, lift spirits with her humor and wit, and offer support in times of need are cherished memories for everyone who knew her. The gentle strength she exhibited throughout life served as a guiding light, and her legacy is carried forward in the lives of those she touched.
Sharica’s life will be commemorated with dignity and love during the scheduled services. A viewing will be held at Martin Luther King Memorial Chapel, located at 1908 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Albany, GA 31701, on July 16, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, providing an opportunity for friends and loved ones to pay their final respects. The funeral service will take place on July 17, 2026, at 4:00 PM at First Monumental Faith Ministries, 1506 Radium Springs Road, Albany, GA 31705. Following the service, Sharica will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery, 220 Cotton Avenue, Albany, GA 31701.
