Obituary

Shateka Ashaunta Brown, beloved daughter of Janifer Clay and the late Ceasar Gregory Green, was born Albany, Georgia on February 17, 1980.

She accepted Christ at a very early age. She received her primary and secondary education in the public schools of Dougherty County. Throughout her school years, she was a vibrant, inquisitive student who was a ray of sunshine to peers, teachers, and close friends.

Shateka was a beautiful, free-spirited, and uniquely extraordinary young lady with an everlasting love for her children—Tarion, Jordan, Trinity,
and Jahmohn. Being a mother was one of the greatest joys of her life and she never faltered in her duties and responsibilities.

She was a very conscientious, persistent individual who taught her children the value of hard work and the importance of doing the right thing.
"Teka," as she was affectionately called, was deeply caring, compassionate, and always looked forward to events with family and friends that brought them together in love and harmony. Whether a large family gathering or a simple afternoon taking photos, she continually found the beauty in everything; the good in everyone; and she created many lasting memories. Teka gave freely to help others and never asked anything in return. She was a phenomenal daughter and mother, an extraordinary sister, a wonderful aunt, a loving niece, a caring cousin, and a an unforgettable friend whose enthusiasm and exuberance were contagious. Like a bright star, she could light up a room and bring joy to anyone around her.

On Saturday, February 20, 2021, Shateka transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death
by her stepfather, Eddie Clay; and her grandparents, David Branch, Sr., Wessie Mae Brown, Sam Green, Jr., and Cora Bell Green. Her beautiful smile, generous heart, and boundless spirit will be deeply missed; but her presence and ray of light will continue to live in the thoughts and
memories of family and friends who loved her dearly.

Shateka is survived by her children, Tarion Brown, Jordan Brown, Trinity Robinson, and Jahmohn Green all of Albany, GA; her mother,
Janifer Clay; siblings, Phillipe L. Green, Sr. of Atlanta, GA and Inshar (Kapatrick) Tillman of Albany, GA; niece and nephews, Zion Zikiya
Tillman of Albany, GA, and Phillipe L. Green, Jr., Andrew J. Green, and Kaeden M. Williams of Atlanta, GA; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.
