IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shatonda "Boosie"
Bell
November 15, 1979 – November 13, 2024
Shatonda Denise Bell, better known as Boosie, was born in Albany, Georgia on November 15, 1979, to the late Alonzo Poteat and Evelyn Bell.
She dedicated her life to Christ and was baptized at an early age at Arcadia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Raymond Polite. As a child, Boosie was always known to be very friendly, but quiet to those who didn't know her personally. Her contagious, dimpled smile and laughter is what made her so special, because it came from that shy and tender side of her.
As Boosie grew older, so did her nature. She was able to bring positivity, energy, and a vibrant presence to any room or place that she entered. If she was swimming at the pool at the Boys Club with the 7th Street gang, playing on the sand hill and picking blackberries and plums with her cousins, or dancing with friends at any function that she attended, everyone felt her presence. She had a gift like no other. She was able to provide a sense of illumination and warmth to anyone whom she met.
She attended Monroe Comprehensive High School, graduating with the Class of 1997. She has always been known to be an excellent cook, which led to her working at Charlie and Pearls Country Fried Chicken for over 17 years. It was during this time that she gained the biggest blessing of her life, something that she had been told she would never be able to do. Her only child, her son "Tigga" was born. He was her light, her everything, and is what aided and solidified her into becoming the best child to her mother, best friend to her sisters, and greatest friend to the countless number of people who loved and adored her.
Boosie truly knew that it was more blessed to give than to receive. Her generosity knew no bounds. Her radiant smile and laughter could light up any room. Her sincere big-heartedness and ability to make anyone feel at home was unmatched. She always lived life to the fullest and especially treasured spending time with her family and friends. Although Boosie is gone, her memories with those who have ever known her will last a lifetime.
She leaves fond memories that will forever remain with her son, Rodney (Makya) Davis, Jr. of Albany, GA; mother, Evelyn Bell of Albany GA; three sisters, Typeysha (Mark) Daniels of Perry GA, Titerrera (Mohandas) Bell of Albany GA, and Megan Edwards of Moultrie GA; a brother, Alonzo (Namia) Edwards of Jacksonville Florida; two nieces, Khadejah Bell and Phoenix Daniels of Perry GA; two nephews, Michael Daniels of Perry GA and Ma'ki Adams of Albany GA; a special uncle and aunt, Jerome Bell and Linda Davis, both of Albany, GA; family friend, Elaine Johnson of Albany GA; devoted father, Rodney Davis, Sr of Albany GA, and a multitude of godchildren, cousins, and friends who loved and adored her.
