Obituary

Shellie Miller Spry Williams was born on July 10, 1953, in Leary, Georgia to the late Johnnie Mae Miller and Willie Mille, Sr.

Shirley as she was affectionately called graduated from Monroe High School in 1971. She was the eighth of ten children born to the late Willie and Johnnie Mae Hillman Miller. In 1975 Shirley was united in holy matrimony to the late James Spry. To this union, one child was born, Ashely Spry. Shirley worked 28 years for Georgia Pacific as a Machine Operator.

Shirley was baptized as a woman of faith and a believer in Christ in her earlier years. Shirley rededicated her life to Christ in January 2009. Shirley affectionally was called "Sis" Shirley in her church at The Church of Jesus Christ Believers under the leadership and guidance of Bishop Lawson. Sis Shirley served faithfully as a Praise Team leader.

I have fought a good fight and finished my course; I have kept the faith. Henceforth, a crown of right is laid up for me, which the Lord, the righteousness judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all of them also that love is appearing. II Timothy 4:7-8

On Thursday, September 21, 2023, the Lord called her home from labor to rest. Along with her mother and father she was also preceded in death by five siblings, Susie Hall, James Miller, Alphonso Miller, Johnnie Miller, and Willie Miller, Jr.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by her daughter, Ashley Spry; three grandchildren, Tanarus Weston Jr., Taniyah Weston, and Kamaree McCray; her siblings, Hattie (Jeffery) Wooden, J. W. Miller, Sr., Ella (J.T.) Brown and Deacon Centrail (Debra) Miller; two special nieces, Loretta Hall and Sheshawn Miller; three special nephews, Ronnie Hall, Robert White, Jr., and C. J. Miller; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends..
